Nish Mathur

Nish Mathur is one of Melbourne's most recognised and formidable hip hop dancers and teachers. Fluent in hip hop, house, popping, locking and new jack swing, Nish is bringing his talent, his energy, his voice in the Hip Hop scene and his huge array of hip hop talent to Monday nights at the Space!!

Nish was recently crowned Melbourne's best locker, hip hop and house dancer, taking out all 3 categories at Re-link the Elements 2009. Nish is also a founding member of the Melbourne Lockers and MHD (Melbourne House Dancers), Melbourne's first house crew. Nish's locking credits include 1st in Freestyle @ Fed Square 2009, 1st at Funk It Up 2008 and winner of Looze Control funkstyle competion 2007. He entered the world of LA style in 2007 with award winning crew Liquid Xpress, helping dance and choreograpgh their way to the international stage at Battlegrounds that year. As one of the top 10 crews, Liquid Xpress placed 3rd in Australia.

Since then, Nish has taken his dance to the next level, discovering real hip hop, the voice, the culture, the history and the dance. Having been educated by the pioneers and creators of hip hop, Nish endeavours to share this knowledge and spread the true culture of the dance.
