Hayley Uberti - Kids Dance Classes

Hayley Uberti

Hayley has been dancing for over 20 years and has been teaching Jazz, Contemporary and Hip hop for over 7 years. Hayley has her Cert 3 in Dance Performance and is currently active within the dance industry, her recent achievements include a 7 month cruise dance contract overseas, "Lipton" TV Commercial, two different dance shows with the contemporary company "Vertical Shadows" choreographed by Stephen Agisilaou, Rob Sturrocks show "OM" and many more various stage shows and corporate events in Melbourne and abroad. Hayley is an associate member of SFD and has completed exams in Classical Ballet and Jazz.

Kim Adam - Kids Dance Classes

Little Kim, as we like to call her, started her dance career as a tiny 3 year old ballerina. She has now moved on from those days and is a successful commercial dancer. Her passion for dance has taken her to LA to train as a scholarship winner at The Edge, and some of her many credits include The Footy Show, a Carlton Football Cheerleader, and a dance double in the Australian movie “Bad Eggs”. In addition to her talents in Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop, Kim has also studied Indian dance, Greek dance and Bellydancing.


Sarah Ambrose - Kids Dance Classes

Sarah Ambrose has an incredible passion for the Performing Arts industry. She began dancing when she was just two years old and has trained in New York, London and LA – where she spent 2 years living. There Sarah trained under choreographers like Tovaris Wilson, Mia Michaels and Brian Friedman. She also worked alongside choreographers for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake & Britney Spears. Sarah enjoys all dance, but her Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop have her students in awe of her choreography and style.


Hayley Andrews - Kids Dance Classes

Hayley began performing at the age of 3 in many styles of dance as well as music theatre, drama, singing and TV presenting. From a teenager Hayley was a cast member at the Tivoli and Hunckbak's theatre restaurants. Hayley appeared in Network Ten's Neighbours as a guest character followed by live shows for The Wiggles, Seasame Street, Looney Tunes and Channel Nine's New Mac Donald's Farm throughout Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. Closer to home, Hayley played the 'Dodo' in Collaboration The Project's dark adaptation, Down The Rabbit Hole. Hayley and a small group of singers accompanied Silvie Paladino live in concert at the Melbourne Concert Hall.


Kelly Byrne - Kids Dance Classes

After dancing her way around the world as part of the “100% Kylie Tribute Show” Kelly Byrne has found her way back to The Space to teach other aspiring dancers. Currently teaching ballet as part of the Next Gen program and teaching our Intro to Ballet Short Course for adults, Kelly is a popular teacher amongst all age groups. With many television credits to her name including “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Footy Show”, Kelly is kept busy with corporate work when she is not teaching. Having completed A Diploma of Art with a Ballet Major, Kelly is much loved by her students.


Deloy - Kids Dance Classes

Deloy started dancing at the age of 14, drawn into the hip hop culture. His favourite dance styles are house and hip hop. Won the house division in Freestyle Masters of Hip Hop 2010, also runner up on 2on2 Hip Hop @ Wanted 2009. Deloy is part of Jigsaw Sneakers, Melbourne House Dancers and BC Tribe, which are a group of his close friends that perform at festivals, clubs and competitions. He started teaching in 2005 and has taught around Australia; Sydney, Perth and Melbourne. Deloy has taught at many different Primary and Secondary schools around Melbourne, and teaches on a regular basis, aiming to spare House and Hip Hop dance culture around Victoria.


Rachaelireson - Kids Dance Classes

Growing up in Hobart, Rachael danced as soon as she could walk at her mother's dance studio. At 16 she attended The McDonald College of Performing Arts in Sydney with a classical ballet scholarship. She has since trained at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet, Melbourne and in New York City on scholarship under some of the world's most respected teachers and choreographers. Credits include: Tokyo Disney Resort, The Australian Ballet, Vertical Shadows Contemporary Dance Company, The Australian Pop's Orchestra, Collaboration the Project and various film and tv work. Rachael is trained in Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, and is also a qualified personal trainer!


Jackmay - Kids Dance Classes

Jack May Hip Hop choreographer/dancer fresh to Melbourne having recently moved from Canberra. Jack has several years of experience working as a choreographer for schools all around Canberra, such as Fresh Funk, Dance Central and Universal Dance Academy . He has created pieces used in Groove Battlegrounds, Australian Hip Hop Championships (AHC), and is currently part of the Melbourne crew, BEATPHONIK (2nd place getters at this year's AHC). Returning from America for the second time earlier this year , Jack has worked with many of the big names, including Andre Fuentes (Brittany Spears Choreographer), Tony Czar (New Kids On The Block Choreographer) and Tucker Barkley.



Mandy Savickas - Kids Dance Classes

Mandy has been teaching classical ballet, jazz and contemporary for close to 12 years, and has worked with students of all ages and levels in that time. She has also enjoyed a long performance career to this day, with a list of credits that goes on. Having been trained by some of the best people in the dance industry from Australia and overseas, Mandy is passing on her years of experience and knowledge in dance. Along with her extensive teaching and performance career, Mandy also works as an Executive Assistant to Rob Sturrock, Director of Industry School of Dance.


Jay Rei - Kids Dance Classes

(Breakin')

With over 20 years dance experience, Jay Rei is a member of Australia's successful “Wickid Force Breakers”. The crew have consistently been crowned the national break dance champions three years in row and have represented Australia in 2002 & 2003 in "The Battle of The Year" world breakdancing titles in Germany. With WFB, Jay has performed for touring artists, including Run DMC and Black Eyed Peas, as well as many television and commercial gigs. He has even performed as the Sonic Animation teddy-bear-type-mascot-thing. Jay is also a regular DJ around the Melbourne club scene, and can often be found spinning discs and hip hopping into the wee small hours.


Naomivalodia - Kids Dance Classes

(Hip Hop)

Naomi began dancing at the age of 9. Over the years she has performed in productions such as The Pyjama Game, Grease, Sound of Music, Bye Bye Birdie, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat. Naomi completed two years of full time training at Danceworld Studios, exploring styles such as Jazz, Hip Hop, Street Funk, Tap, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Flamenco, Contemporary and Acrobatics. Naomi has trained under some of L.A’s finest dancers/ choreographers, including; Patrick Chen, Tovaris Wilson, Andre Fuentes and Adam Parson. Having danced with Australian Hip Hop crew Dance2XS, she has performed in various club shows, showcases and charity events throughout Melbourne and Sydney, as well as receiving an invitation to be a judge for the prestigious Australian Hip Hop Champs 2010.


Estelle Markakos - Kids Dance Classes

Estelle started dancing at the age of 3 at Centrestage Performing Arts School where she trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet (RAD) and Musical Theatre. In 1995, Estelle had the opportunity to perform in the Annual Logie Awards along side with Big Bird from Sesame Street and Alyssa Jane Cook! Other credits include: The Millenium Parade, Hats Off Charity Concerts, Annual APIA Concerts with Rhonda Birchmore, 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony and also performed the ‘Can-Can’ with the Sydney Orchestra Symphony at Federation Square.

Estelle has completed a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Human Movement) at RMIT University and is also a qualified Personal Trainer. Estelle loves sharing her knowledge in both dance and health/exercise science and she is currently undertaking the Full Time Course at The Space Dance & Arts Centre to enhance her skills further.

 

 


Sophia Lewis
(Lyrical)

Sophia began dancing at  the age of 6 years old, training for 12 years in tap dancing and later ballet and jazz. Sophia then completed 2 years of fulltime training at Dance World Studios and The Space Dance and Arts centre, exploring styles such as, jazz, tap ,ballet, street latin, contemporary, hip hop, le bop and musical theatre.

Over the years Sophia has performed in shows such as VCE Seasons of Excellence, Top Class 2008,  Project Y’s Gallery,  Australia’s Got Talent flash mob, Short and Sweet Dance, Choreographer and stage manager  of The Space’s production of Dance a Double, which was produced through the Melbourne Fringe festival 2011.

Sophia has been teaching dance for over 5 years, including dance programs for children with special needs. She has a great passion for the performing arts and feels very grateful to have the opportunity  to share her passion and inspire others.

 

 


Lauren Drago
(Lyrical)

A passionate performer and teacher, Lauren is dedicated to her work in the Arts. Since completing two years of full time dance, Lauren has performed with Australian Hip Hop Championship winning crew DVP, worked with Project Moda on performances for Brian Macfadden on Australia’s Got Talent, Jessica Mauboy on Hey Hey it’s Saturday and Yvette Lee on Selwyn’s “Not Gonna Let You Go” video. Lauren’s career highlights also include recent performances with Melbourne contemporary companies Vertical Shadows and Collaboration the Project.
